On the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia, recently, the Indonesian Embassy in Vietnam and the Indonesian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City held the Bali & Beyond event to promote images of Indonesia and Bali Island to Vietnamese tourists.
The "Bali & Beyond" event saw the participation of 24 Indonesian companies comprising of 42 delegations, and categorised in three clusters, including hospitalities/hotels restaurants; travel agencies, adventure tours; and trading (fashion/garment, jewelry, wine, coffee, chocolate).
Apart from an exhibition, the event also showcased a range of adventure tours like Seawalker or a presentation on the Story of Bali, as well as Balinese dance with introductory classes for the public aimed to introduce the unique art and culture of Indonesia to Vietnamese people.
Addressing the event, Ibnu Hadi, Indonesian Ambassador in Vietnam expressed his wish to strengthen trade interactions between the two counties, especially between Ho Chi Minh City and Bali. The event is also in conjunction with the direct flight between Ho Chi Minh City and Denpasar opened in May 2019.
Bali & Beyond is an effort to match the economic potential of Vietnam and Indonesia and reach the total bilateral trade turnover target of $10 billion in 2020. The opening ceremony was attended by the Consul General of the US, Singapore, Laos, Malaysia, and representatives of Indonesian companies operating in Vietnam.
Coming to the Bali & Beyond event, visitors not only experienced the famous products of Bali, Indonesia but could also participate in games and receive many vouchers and souvenirs from Indonesian companies.
